Ecoprint onto Paper Workshop

Ecoprint onto Paper Workshop

Tutor: Caroline Nixon

Date Available:

  • 17 - 18 August 2019

2 day course: 10am - 4pm

Create beautiful botanical images on paper using real foliage and flowers gathered from the gardens at Claydon Estate.

Ecoprinting is a form of monoprint, or botanical contact print. Using heat and pressure you will learn to transfer the pigment and outline directly from leaf to paper. You will learn how to use natural dyes and pigments to enhance your prints. This course is a fantastic introduction to the technique and once you have learnt the skills to print onto paper, it is very easy to progress onto fabric.

The finished printed papers can be framed works of art in their own right, turned into cards or gift tags, or incorporated into mixed media art. On the second day of this course, you will learn a beautiful Japanese stab stitch binding technique, allowing you to make some of your prints into a notebook or journal.

Your course fee includes entry into the gardens of Claydon Estate on both days.

Materials Fee:

There will be a materials fee of £10.00, to include dyes, mordants and sundries. This is payable in cash to the tutor at the start of the course.

What to bring:

You will be provided with a detailed list of what to bring at least a month before the course.

“Excellent quality teaching. The tutor was immersed in her craft and that rubbed off on me...I loved it!!”
