Glorious Gardens in Watercolour

Tutor: George Boyter

Date Available:

28 - 29 August

2 day course: 10am - 4pm

Capture the energy and beauty of the views and gardens of Claydon Estate in the most painterly and versatile medium.

Watercolour is an ideal medium with which to respond to your surroundings. Learn to work quickly and confidently with a little pre-planning and discover how some of the best paintings can be completed in a short amount of time. Learn to choose effective compositions on the spot, planning your foreground, middle ground and background to capture the essence of the vista and capture the light. One morning will be spent in the studio. Thereafter, students will paint outdoors with tutor’s demo and individual guidance on hand. If weather doesn’t permit painting outdoors at any time, the studio facility will be used as appropriate.

By the end of the course, participants will have produced a sketch book of watercolour studies plus at least 1 complete painting.

What to bring;

Watercolour Sketchbook, watercolour palette and brushes. A recommended list will be sent out by your tutor in advance of the course.

Material fee:
