2 day course: 10am - 4pm
Our fastest selling course in 2018! Have you ever wanted to paint a landscape like one of the Impressionists?
This very popular 2 day course is designed to give you both an insight and opportunity to work in the same style and manner as some of the great Impressionist painters, producing landscape paintings enriched with colour, texture and light. Taking inspiration from Monet, Sisley, Pissarro and others, you will use some of the most idyllic scenes around Claydon Gardens as your inspiration to produce beautiful Impressionistic landscape paintings in the comfort of the studio. Time will be taken to learn specific brush techniques, oil paint application and the importance of colour theory to create a painting with real harmony and vibrancy. During this course you can expect to create 2 Impressionist paintings; one of a classic Monet-inspired waterlily scene and the other a beautiful garden or landscape scene.
This course is suitable for all abilities.
What to bring;
Please bring a good selection of hog oil painting brushes with you, in a range of sizes. The Impressionists typically used flat or filbert brushes so using these would be an advantage.
There will be a materials fee of £5 payable in cash to the artist at the start of the course, which goes towards all other tools and materials which will be provided, including all paper and paint.
“A very well structured, enjoyable, engaging, fit for artists of all levels, challenging, pleasant surroundings, un-rushed approach and very supportive tuition.”
“The course exceeded expectation and would highly recommend it. I was a little apprehensive as my experience was very limited. I shouldn’t have been concerned! Peter very quickly put every body at ease and not feeling intimidated at all. I learned so much and will definitely be booking again.”
