2 day course: 10am - 4pm

This course is designed for those looking to try their hand at portraiture in oils for the first time or those who have no experience in oils or painting before. 

Over the two days Peter will demonstrate and guide you through his structured approach to creating a portrait that includes many essential elements including how to start a portrait, mixing flesh tones, capturing facial details and ultimately creating a good likeness. Working from excellent photographic images, with an opportunity to bring your own images to work from, this course will give you plenty of one-to-one instruction from Peter as well as informal group critiques and discussions helping further your knowledge and enjoyment of portraiture. 
During this course you can expect to complete at least 1 finished portrait. 

All painting materials are provided for this course. 

What to bring: a selection of paint brushes in a good range of sizes from 0 - 12, suitable for oil painting. Soft sable or watercolour brushes will not be suitable.
-Portrait images will be provided for this course.

All other tools and materials are provided but artists are welcome to bring their own preferred materials if they wish.
