  • Can I book a course myself or do I have to do it over the phone?

You can book the course yourself directly from this website. Simply click the course you’d like to attend, enter the number of spaces you wish to book and click ‘Book Course’. This will be added to your ‘shopping trolley’ featured in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click this and you’ll be able to add your contact and booking details. However, if you’re unable to book online, please call us and we can take your booking over the phone.

  • I am coming to do a course from abroad - do you offer accommodation?

We are very lucky to be able to recommend a range of excellent accommodation options that are near to the studio. Ranging from small independent B&Bs, hotels, self-catering cottages, or Airbnbs, hopefully there is something to suit your requirements. We have put together a list of local and recommended accommodations which can be booked independently. Please click here to visit our accommodation page, or scroll to the bottom of any page on this website to find the link.

  • I always seem to get lost getting to Claydon - am I going the wrong way?

Being in such a rural location, there are many different ways to get to the studio at Claydon Estate. Following a sat nav is always advised, as well as following the brown National Trust signs directing visitors to Claydon House. But don’t worry if you always go a different way, there isn’t a quickest or most direct route here.

  • Is there a place to buy lunch when I’m there?

Yes - we are lucky to have The Phoenix Tea Rooms nearby in the courtyard. This is run by Claydon Estate and produces freshly made lunches and cakes everyday, often using the produce grown in the Kitchen Garden. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch which you can store in the studio fridge or heat up in the microwave.

  • I’m a complete, never-done-anything-like-this, beginner. Will this course be suitable for me?

Unless stated, most of our courses are suitable for the complete beginner. We know there will be a range of abilities and experiences in the studio during a course and all of our tutors are there to help guide, support and teach you the essentials in order for you to fully participate in the course. If you are in any way concerned about your ability to take part in the course, please contact us for further details.

  • I am disabled and have low mobility. Will I be able to get access into the studio?

Yes - our studio is completely accessible with level access in and throughout the studio. There are no steps from the car park leading up into the Courtyard. However, if for any reason you are unable to make the walk from the car park to the studio, you are welcome to drive right up to the studio door and unload. If you are in any way concerned about your ability to take part in the course, please contact us for further details.

  • Do I need to bring my own materials?

Do to the varied nature of our courses, some do require you to bring some equipment, whilst others will provide you with everything you need. Some courses will also ask for a materials fee, payable directly to the tutor on the day of the course, to cover the cost of some essential materials. All of these arrangements are made clear on the course page at the time of booking. For any further details about this, please do contact us.
