Do you want to get creative this summer?
Come and learn new skills and make art in a professional studio.
During each day will we focus on a different theme, with fundamental art skills being taught throughout. Our holiday club aims to give children aged 7 - 11 years, the chance to have fun, learn and create in a professional art studio.
Workshops can be booked individually, in groups or the whole collection. There will be no more than 15 participants per workshop. All materials provided.
With over twenty years experience in education (primary and secondary) between them, the directors of The Courtyard Art Studio Peter and Kimberley Keegan, are passionate about teaching art, inspiring children and promoting the health and emotional benefits of producing art. Kimberley, who will lead the sessions, is a qualified primary school teacher with a degree in Fine Art. She has worked as a registered childminder for the past two years and is paediatric first aid trained.
What to bring:
- Clothes you don't mind getting messy!
- A packed lunch
- An outdoor coat (in case of bad weather)
- Bags of creativity and energy!

10.45 - 11: Break & snack time
11 - 12: Second Activity session
12 - 12.30: Lunch (Outside if weather permitting)
12.30 - 1.30: Third Activity session

Thursday 26th July - Batik workshop
Decorate and create pictures on fabric using this ancient Indonesian art form using wax and dye.
Weds 1st Aug - Printmaking workshop
A day of exploring and experimenting with different types of printmaking to create pictures, cards and more.
Thurs 2nd Aug - Colour workshop
A painting, drawing and collage workshop all about colour.
Weds 8th Aug - Felted Creatures and Monsters
A day of fun, bubbles and felt - design and make your own 3D felt creature or monster using the wet felting method.
Weds 15th Aug - Art and Nature
Paint and draw outside; Make your own "mud" paint; Create sculptures using found, natural materials.
